This ayurvedic detoxification techniques and stress reduction therapy is performed by herbal medicated oils usually before bath. It incorporates an aromatic and medicated combination of oils prepared with herbs blended to body type. A variety of Ayurvedic techniques is applied to work along the energy channels of the body in a synchronized manner to restore the flow of vital energy (Prana) where it has become blocked. Lymphatic stimulation with ayurvedic herbal oils helps to take out toxic accumulation from the channels in body. It can be beneficial for maintaining health, and also therapeutically used for certain disorders. Abhyanga can be adapted into a routine appropriate for almost everyone. The Sanskrit word sneha means both “oil” and “love,” and the effects of abhyanga are similar to being saturated with love. Both experiences can give a deep feeling of stability, warmth and comfort which is “subtle.” This allows passing through minute channels in the body and penetrating deep layers of tissue.

Ayurveda says that there are seven dhatus, in the body which has independent part and important duty for life-giving. It is taught that for the effects of sneha to reach to the deepest layer, it should be massaged into the body for roughly five minutes. If we consider that the entire body needs this kind of attention, a 15 to 20 minutes massage is the suggested minimum amount of time
